Honey Infographic Poster

18x24”, Adobe Illustrator.

My dad is a hobby beekeeper, and I’ve always found his processes of gathering and bottling the honey fascinating, so when tasked with creating an infographic poster demonstrating how something Is made from start to finish, I knew exactly what I wanted to focus on. I started my process simply by gathering information, watching my father work, and asking questions. I visited my dad on a day that he was processing and bottling honey, so I was able to watch the events that I would soon be illustrating and sharing with the world, happen directly in front of me, which was incredibly valuable to my project. I sat in front of him as I gathered notes, sketched, and by the time I left that day, I had an incredibly clear idea of what my illustrations and infographics were going to look like.
I decided to go with a somewhat muted color palette. I wanted to use minimal color, so I selected a few yellow/orange hues, and a few brown, tan, and blue shades. I wanted the poster to feel very clear and minimal, with simple infographics and an eye-catching title. I used a honeybee and a dotted line to lead viewer’s eye throughout the composition and to add a last small touch.
